The effusive bouquet of crushed raspberries with cloves and vanilla that Zinfandel can create is one of the most satisfying in all of wine. Zinfandel pairs beautifully with Italian cuisine and many grilled red meats. The grapes for Zinpiphany come from Grist Vineyards, found in the Dry Creek Valley region of Sonoma Valley. Grist Vineyards grapes are found in several excellent Zinfandels, including those of Turley and Bradford Mountain...and here. At home, it is our vin-du-jour, our favorite daily wine.
2007 Tasting Notes:
1/2012: deep purple, effusive nose of berry fruit with floral overtones. Unctuous and heavy on the palate with light tannins. Drinking extremely well.
2008 Tasting Notes:
After four months in oak, the 2008 Grist Vineyards Zinfandel demonstrated the expansive bouquet of crushed raspberries with spicy notes of cinnamon and blackpepper that characterizes this varietal. Blended with a small amount of Grenache at bottling, the 2008 Zinpiphany® has immediate appeal
and should develop for several years, complimenting Italian red sauces, pizza, grilled meats and the sophisticated empty glass.
2009 Tasting Notes:
After a year in oak, the 2009 Grist Vineyards Zinfandel was blended with a small amount of Petite Sirah for additional tannins and complexity. As with the two previous vintages, the 2009 Zinpiphany® has immediate appeal but will benefit from at least two years in the bottle and drink well for several years after that.
and should develop for several years, complimenting Italian red sauces, pizza, grilled meats and the sophisticated empty glass.

known for its unique rock formations, known as tufa. While I provided the main graphic, including the radiating grape
cluster, the overall label design and aesthetic was provided by Jenny Doll, the head graphic designer at Crushpad Wine.
